ABOUT OUR STUDIO

Twelve Chairs Interiors is an award winning boutique interior design firm specializing in the thoughtful renovation of historic properties for families in and around Boston, Massachusetts. The design studio has become known for breathing new life into old homes - enhancing and celebrating their inherent character and craftsmanship while simultaneously infusing their interiors with a modern day sensibility. The resulting homes are beloved by their owners, becoming beautiful, functional backdrops for their families’ lives.

Founded in 2010, Twelve Chairs called Boston home for a decade. In 2021 the studio moved to its current location in the charming downtown of Cohasset, a coastal town on the South Shore of Massachusetts. The studio takes on a small number of full home projects each year. Principal Designer, Roisin (Row-sheen) Giese, along with the company’s Director of Project Operations, Lexi Thayer, are fully involved in each project bringing their years of experience of designing beautiful homes and effectively executing design projects.

Roisin Giese

Owner + Principal Designer

Twelve Chairs is lead by Roisin Giese, a graduate of Cornell University’s Interior Design program. In 2022, Roisin was honored with New England Home’s prestigious 5 Under 40 Award. When not designing for clients, she can be found planning her family’s next adventure, hunting for antiques or renovating her 1926 Colonial home in Cohasset that she shares with her husband and two young boys.

Lexi Thayer

Director of Project Operations

A native of Nantucket and graduate from James Madison University, Lexi has devoted her professional career to high end residential design. At Twelve Chairs Interiors Lexi oversees the implementation of all the firm's projects. Lexi lives in Boston's South End with her fiancé.

The company’s work has garnered the attention of local and national press. Twelve Chairs has been featured in Veranda, House Beautiful, Boston Globe Magazine, Elle Decor, and New England Home. In 2023, Twelve Chairs was one of five interior designers nationally chosen to design a vignette for Serena and Lily’s Holiday House.
